South Tyrol in Its Fascinating Diversity

What makes South Tyrol such a popular travel destination? Is it the gentle natural landscapes or the rugged mountain ranges? The charming towns with their historic facades and Mediterranean flair? The answer is simple: It is the unique combination that makes South Tyrol and a vacation here so special.

Experiences All Year Round

Excursion to Brixen

Brixen is the oldest city in Tyrol and is known as the bishop’s city. The cathedral, a landmark of the city, preserves frescoes by Paul Troger, one of the most significant Baroque altars in Tyrol, and 33 different types of the most precious marble. The frescoes in the cloister turn it into one of the most important art monuments in South Tyrol. Close to Brixen you can find the Neustift Monastery, formerly a significant intellectual and cultural center of Tyrol. The monastery hosts one of the oldest still active winecellars in the world with well-known white wines such as Sylvaner & Müller Thurgau.

Excursion to Bolzano

Just a 30-minute drive from Alpenflora, South Tyrol's capital city, Bolzano, awaits you: bilingual, lively, modern, and deeply rooted in tradition. The old town features narrow shopping alleys like the Lauben, as well as inviting squares with numerous cafes and restaurants. Bozen is home to well-known museums, such as the Archaeology Museum with the 5000-year-old mummy Ötzi or the Nature Museum, which provides insights into the formation and current appearance of South Tyrolean landscapes.

Kastelruther Spatzen

The Kastelruther Spatzen are one of the most successful German-speaking folk music bands. Every year, they host an open-air festival in June, the traditional Spatzenfest in October, and a festive Christmas concert in December.
